Follow-up Report: “Reconciliation—a Utopia?” “The Right to irreconcilability”— Is It Simply a Given? Follow-up Report: “Reconciliation—a Utopia?” “The Right to irreconcilability”— Is It Simply a Given?

As part of the series “Reconciliation—a Utopia?”, literary and social scientist Jan Philipp Reemtsma explored the question of a “right to irreconcilability.” The lecture encouraged a nuanced examination of the limits of reconciliation, the prerequisites for social coexistence, and how to deal with ongoing conflicts. We thank all guests for the stimulating discussions and the lively exchange between academia and the public.

The evening was moderated by Prof. Dr. Hans-Georg Soeffner and dramaturge Sarah Tzscheppan.

We are already looking forward to the next event in the series: On June 10 at 7:30 p.m., Prof. Dr. Grit Straßenberger will be a guest at the Schauspielhaus. Ms. Straßenberger will present her book “Die Denkerin. Hannah Arendt und ihr Jahrhundert”  and offer new insights into the life and thought of one of the most influential political thinkers of the 20th century. Tickets
