Fifty years after the last civil-military coup in Argentina, and as part of the Day of Remembrance, Truth, and Justice, we, together with the Ibero-American Institute in Berlin, cordially invite you to the panel discussion “Argentina 50 Years After the Coup: Human Rights Under Pressure.”

The discussion will examine the current state of human rights in Argentina, addressing both the progress made over the past 50 years and the current challenges in the field of memory policy.

Against the backdrop of an increasingly restricted space for civil society, the criminalization of social protests, rising denialism, and regressive government measures in the areas of remembrance, truth, and justice, the discussion will focus on how these developments impact the preservation of memorial sites and archives, as well as access to justice.
