25th Anniversary of Peru's Truth and Reconciliation Commission
On July 2, 2026, a commemorative event marking the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Peruvian Truth and Reconciliation Commission (CVR) will take place at the Goethe-Institut Lima. Titled "25 Years of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission: Memory, Assessment, and Challenges for Peru," the event focuses on addressing the history of violence and examining long-term perspectives regarding truth, justice, and social reconciliation.
The event will open with an introductory keynote by Salomón Lerner Febres, followed by a presentation by Prof. Dr. Rosario Figari Layus. Subsequently, experts from academia and the human rights sector will participate in a joint panel discussion to address current developments, challenges, and perspectives regarding the politics of memory in Peru.
