The discussions focused on the normative foundations, political negotiations, and practical forms of reparations – ranging from Indigenous compensation claims in North America and approaches to addressing crimes against humanity in Argentina to German-Namibian efforts at reconciliation. The workshop highlighted that compensation always touches on issues of recognition, historical responsibility, the culture of remembrance, and cultural heritage.
